It's finally completed....the Student
and Class Modules. The Student Module will help you keep track
of your students, their interest and classes that they have taken
from you.The Class Module will assist you in keep track of individuals
that inquire about a class you are giving as well as those that
have decided to sign-up. There's a place for you to enter the
project name, start/end date & start/end time of the class,
the project designer and cost to the student. The Class Module
will also print out a receipt that you can give each student.
The receipt will not only record the cost of the class project
materials and teacher expenses, it will also allow you to enter
any supplies and materials that a student purchases during class.
-
- Now, have you ever wished that there
was an easy way to keep track of individuals that will be taking
your classes? Look no further! To fill in the student's information,
all you have to do is enter their phone #. If you have that student
listed in your Student Module, the program will automatically
transfer the student information from the Student Module to the
Class Module. The same applies for the Project Module. Just enter
the Project # into the appropriate Class Module field and the
information about the project, including associated costs, will
be transferred automatically into the Class Module. And, if you
need to contact an individual, no need to dial their phone #.....just
click on the phone icon and let the program do it for you, provided
you have a modem and it's hooked up to a phone line.
-
- Upgrade....Upgrade....Upgrade. Have
you checked out the latest version (released 5/28/99) of the
Project Module? Not only will it help you determine what you
should be marketing your finished product, it now has the ability
to calculate a value that you as a teacher should be charging
for classes. The Data Entry Form now has a section for teachers
to enter their expenses such as time prep, mileage, lodging,
travel, etc. The program then determines what the total cost
per student should be, based on the # of students per class and
the cost of materials for that particular project. You can even
do what-ifs. Simply change some of the values and compare the
results in seconds. The final result is then transferred to the
Class Module and placed into the invoice section when the Project
# is entered and the Inquiry field status shows that an individual
will be taking the class (vs inquiring about it). Before you
use any of the Modules mentioned above, please read the Help
section. To get there, just click on the icon located in the
upper left corner of the data entry form of each Module.
-
- All eleven (11) Modules that have been
scheduled for development have now been completed. Am I finished?
Nope!.....VBG. I have a few more that will be developed in the
near future. But 1st, I need to work on the MAC version for our
very patient Artist that refuse to change under pressure .....LOL.
As a proud owner of several MACs, I offer the following to all
MAC users...... "Being a Mac user is like being a Navy SEAL:
a small, elite group of people with access to the most sophisticated
technology in the world, who everyone calls on to get the really
tough jobs done quickly and efficiently." LOL....sorry PC'ers,
but us MAC users are always getting pounced on and this is the
only defense I could find.
-
- To those of you that have purchased
the program, I sincerely hope the program has served you well
and has helped you with your organizational needs, so that you
had more time to be creative....or should I say "Finally
having time to do some house cleaning, making dinner for your
better half, or, on a more serious note, being able to spend
a little time with that special someone."
-
- In closing, I would like to thank all
of you that have encouraged, supported and helped with the creation
and development of the Decorative Painter Data Base. I would
also like to give a special thanks to my wife, Jaynee, my daughters
Jennifer and Audrey, and lastly...our dog Jessica. The dog kept
my feet warm as I spent countless hours sitting at the computer,
while Jaynee and the girls picked up much of the load that I
normally do at home so that I could spend the time writing this
program. Without their help, understanding and support, this
program would never have gone from a dream to reality. So I want
to say to my lovely wife and daughters......."I love you
and thank you for allowing me to realize my dream". And
to all you wonderful Artist that have supported the Decorative
Painter Data Base......."Thank you for allowing me to be
a part of your world - the wonderful world of color!"
